Shabbat of Transformation
Dear new friends and old friends,

Come join The Beis Community for a Shabbaton unlike any other we've planned. We're distanced from our friends and family; we've just ushered in a brand new government; and the Israelites are standing at the foot of Sinai, waiting for God to give them the Torah.

Sign up for our Shabbox by February 1st and receive some special Shabbat goodies in lieu of crowding together for a communal meal. We'll welcome the Shabbat Queen together at Bennett Park on Friday night, and escort her out together from our homes over Zoom.

5:00pm - Candle lighting
5:20pm - Welcoming the Shabbat Queen (Mincha, Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv) at Bennett Park

9:30am - Morning Services at the Beis
11:00am - Kiddush at Bennett Park, sponsored by Naima Hirsch
3:30pm - How Did You Get To Sinai? A Discussion with Rachel Chabin - at Bennett Park (weather permitting, cold location the Beis)
6:20pm - Virtual Musical Havdallah with Hart Levine in the Beis Zoom Room

All in-person parts of the Shabbaton will take place at the Beis (587 Ft Washington Ave, right side entrance) and Bennett Park. We're the brown door on the right side of the building, and we'll have a sign and/or greeters out to meet you!

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Rachel Chabin ( or Naima Hirsch (

Looking forward to spending a beautiful Shabbat with you!

In the spirit of ~stepping~ out of our comfort zones, would you like to meet some new friends this week for a Shabbat afternoon walk?
We know it's hard to make new friends when we can't have each other over for Shabbat meals! If we get enough interest, we're happy to help facilitate some after-lunch walking groups to Fort Tryon Park.
