A lecture-discussion hosted by Trina Griffin
What are the challenges a person of color faces for making it in Hollywood? How is Hollywood failing its new talent? Trina Griffin shares the things that need to change in the movie industry, including the old ways that made Hollywood what it is today. The changing of the guards is at hand, but is Hollywood ready to pass the baton to them?
Trina Griffin is the owner and executive director of Rising Reels, a non-profit organization with a focus on BIPOC children from local underserved communities, where she teaches children about the art of making a film from the pre-production phase to distribution. She’s also a 2000 graduate of the drama program at the University of Washington and possesses a 2-year continuing education degree with a focus on digital filmmaking from Shoreline Community College.
