Join the movement for police accountability in Chicago!
Empowering Communities for Public Safety (ECPS) is a coalition of community, labor, and faith-based organizations working to create safe neighborhoods across Chicago. Last year, we led the passage of the ECPS ordinance, which creates the strongest system of civilian oversight anywhere in the country.
On February 28, 2023 — for the first time ever — Chicago voters will elect three District Council candidates in their police districts. These leaders will work at the neighborhood level to address public safety concerns, host meetings and discussions, and implement localized safety initiatives, including alternatives to police.
