The IVS administers the Virtual Section which is for violists who live in
countries that do not have a national Viola society. This might be because they
are unable to form a society because of the current political/regulatory
situation, or they have not succeeded in forming a society. The Virtual Section
exists in order to welcome these violists to our viola family and allow them to
be associated with the IVS. Only individuals in the above circumstances can apply for an IVS Virtual Section Membership.
This membership enabled members to attend International Viola Congresses and take advantage of our newsletter, website, audio Data base, and IVS activities and scholarships. It will allow you to receive timely information regarding congress proposals, deadlines,
travel and more.
IVS Virtual Section members should abide by the IVS rules of honesty and good and unreproachable conduct. The IVS will appoint a representative or spokesperson from the IVS virtual section to represent its members to the IVS board.
If an IVS Virtual Section member is from a country that forms its own national society, they will be removed from the membership the following year and referred to their country’s newly formed society.
