Exodus 2.0
The month leading up to Passover reminds us of the Exodus from Egypt.

The pandemic and inability to connect with others outside of our homes has made our physical and emotional wellness challenging.

To better help us connect with our community and boost our wellbeing, let's get our bodies moving while fighting hunger.

Together, with congregants and friends, we want to partner to collectively walk/run/cycle to Jerusalem from Closter.

Our calculations total it is 5681 Miles from Temple Emanu-El in Closter, to Jerusalem Western Wall.

Mileage can be accrued by running or walking outside or on a treadmill. Cycling miles can be accrued on a stationary bicycle, like Peloton, another model stationary bike or even outside cycling. Feel free to use Strava (a free app) to track your progress and mileage. https://www.strava.com/mobile

We hope that while bettering ourselves we can better others, too. You can invite friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your mileage. All funds collected will help support hunger locally and in Israel for the Passover holiday; Pantry Packers in Israel and NYBR, who provides Passover meals to the needy.

Attached is a google spread sheet. In it, you can pledge miles by bicycle or by foot and pledge support to the hungry. The totals will be tabulated along with others to achieve our goal.
See you in the Promised Land!

Challenge begins Friday, February 26th and ends on Friday, March 26th!!
