INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL TUITION PROGRAM 2025
The school provides an opportunity for students to have instrumental and/or vocal lessons at NHSPA with professional tutors. The lessons take place during the school day on a rotational basis so that the students do not miss the same class each week. Most lessons are half hour in duration once a week over each school term.

COST OF TUITION
Lessons are mostly $45 per half hour private lesson with fees to be paid in full at the beginning of each term directly to the tutor. Please liaise with the individual tutor concerning price per lesson.

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice of cancellation is required or lesson fee will be forfeited.

PAYMENT
Lesson fees must be paid in full at the start of every term. Payment is made directly to the tutor. At least two weeks’ notice (not including holidays) must be given if lessons will be discontinued in the following term.

SIGNING IN AND OUT OF MUSIC TUITION LESSONS

Students will notify their class teacher via email and at the beginning of class that they have a music lesson.

They will then excuse themselves from class 5 minutes beforehand and go directly to the lesson. Upon return to class the student must go via the swipe room in the front office and obtain a ‘music lesson’ pass that must be presented to their teacher.

It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on any missed class work by talking with their class teacher and/or fellow students regarding class work and homework.

EXPECTATIONS AS A STUDENT IN THE VITP
 Having private music lessons is a serious commitment and requires an undertaking to the following:
• Attend weekly lessons  
• Practice regularly  
• Pay lesson fees in full at the start of each term  
• Catch up on missed class work due to music lessons and inform the class teacher via email the day before or in person at the START of the class lesson they will miss  
• Tutors must be notified if for any reason you miss a lesson, including circumstances such as  assessments or excursion  

PROCEDURES

Procedure for leaving class to go to an instrumental/vocal lesson

Students will notify their class teacher at the beginning of class that they have a music lesson. They will then excuse themselves from class 5 minutes before their allocated time, go to the Swipe Room and get a ‘music lesson IN’ pass and then go directly to the Music lesson. Upon completion of the music lesson, the student must go via the swipe room in the front office and obtain a ‘music lesson OUT ’pass that must be presented to their class teacher.

It is the student’s responsibility to catch up on any missed class work by talking with their class teacher and/or fellow students regarding class work and homework.
