2020 MRSC Winter Training Booking Form
MRSC is an RYA recognised teaching centre. We run both junior and adult training courses for our members. RYA Power Boat 2, RYA Safety Boat and first aid courses are a good way for everyone to hone their skills and, as they are subsidised by our Training Fund, they are incredibly good value. You need to be a member of MRSC to sign up to the club training courses.

RYA Powerboat 2: Cost £50
25 & 26 Jan : 9.00am-4.30pm; 6 places
14 &15 March: 11.00am- 6pm; 12 places
A 2 day course, that leads to the qualification seen as the driving license' for Rib operations. No previous experience is needed.
Minimum age: 12 years old. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate
What to bring: You will need a passport sized photo for your certificate; life jacket & wet weather clothing; sandwich lunch (tea and coffee available)

RYA First Aid: Cost £30
1st Feb
A 1 day course , 9-30 am start, approx 5-30 finish - covers the basics of emergency first aid, with a focus on scenarios likely to be experienced in a watersports context. Cost includes booklet and certificate.
What to bring: pen & paper & sandwich lunch. (tea & coffees available).

PB2 Refresher: £10
8 Feb
A one day course 9 am start, approx 2 pm finish - An opportunity for those who already have their PB2 certificate to have some practice under the watchful eye of our instructors and experienced Rib drivers.
Minimum age: 12 years old.
What to bring: Life jacket & wet weather clothing; sandwich lunch (tea and coffee available)

SRC Radio Course: £40
22 Feb
This is a 1 day course, with some pre arrival preparation work, 9-30 start, approx 5-30 finish - - To operate a marine VHF radio the operator must hold a VHF operator's licence. This course prepares candidates for the exam to provide their license, which will take place at the end of day. Cost includes booklet. There is an examination fee payable on the day to the RYA of £60 for the exam.

RYA Safety Boat Course £40
29 Feb and 1 Mar
A 2 day course 11-30 am start, approx 5-30 finish - - for those with their PB2 and a few years experience. The course will enable you to refine your boat handling and then rescue a variety of craft from dinghies to windsurfers and towing other craft.
Minimum age: 16 years old.
What to bring: You will need a passport sized photo for your certificate; life jacket & wet weather clothing; sandwich lunch (tea and coffee available)

Diesel Engine Course: £40 paid AD Marine on the day
7th and 14th March
A 1 day course, 10 am start, approx. 2 pm finish - de-winterisation and emergency repairs afloat, run by Dale Dibley at AD Marine. As this course is provided by an external trainer, this course cannot be booked on line. Please email Ian at training@mengeham.org.uk for details.
