And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matt 28:18-20)
This is the initial sign up sheet for BTM-2017. The goal of BTM is to cast a vision among the next generation of church leaders for the necessity and urgency for missions by facilitating low-cost, hands-on, in-the-field training and experience. We aim to accomplish this goal through intensive one-week mission projects which incorporate pastoral leadership, nightly preaching and teaching, daily ministry projects such as neighborhood evangelism and Vacation Bible Schools, and work projects in foreign language situations.
This year, we are planning projects on both sides of the border. These are being formulated according to a flyer that we have available on this years scope. If you have not yet seen that flyer, please request it at email@example.com.
Who is Eligible to Attend?
High school graduates and older, primarily between the ages of 18-30.
Parents may bring their own underage children.
(We do not except parental substitutes unless the child is orphaned.)
(Why do we have this policy? The goal of the BTM is to provide a mission experience with those who are serious about foreign missions. It is not intended that the attendees are the mission, but where those participating may have first hand experience in another culture.
When is the Mission?
We convene at 5:30PM Saturday night, July 22th, 2017 for a meal and an introductory message at the Santa Teresa Baptist Church, 5750 McNutt Road, Santa Teresa, NM. We conclude our mission after an evening service, Thursday, July 28st. We then cleanup and head for home on July 29th.
Who are our keynote speakers: To Be Determined. Other messages will be provided each evening by visiting pastors.
What is the Cost?
$150 pays for your food and expenses incurred by the conference ($125 is the family price per person this year). For the first to apply, accommodations are in the church building on air mattresses and sleeping bags (women in the Sunday School rooms and the men in the Sanctuary). The church building can house about forty.
A limited number of homes may be available for those needing more privacy. There are a number of hotels within 6 miles of the church: Hampton Inn and Suites, Comfort Suites, Sleep Inn, Extended Stay, Travelodge, Days Inn, Econolodge, La Quinta, Holiday Inn Express ranging from $60 per night to $145 (we can provide a list of all those who need to stay in hotel rooms to see if you can find brothers or sisters who would need to share costs). We understand that some of you may not be able to come unless you are able to stay at the church and we will do everything in our power to make that available to you, but it is on a first come first serve basis.
Each evening Mon-Thurs evenings we meet for worship. Our speakers next year are yet to be announced.
