We're looking for mentors to work with small groups of Tech Divas assisting with discovery, research, ideation, and mobile application development over the course of this three day hackathon. The weekend will close with an opportunity for each group of Tech Divas to present their app to an audience and panel of judges. Three groups will be selected by the judges to go home with prizes in recognition of their app development and presentation.
We ask that our mentors are able to work with students during the entire 3-day hackathon realizing that this is a large time commitment and thank you in advance for your commitment. Know that the mentors' impact will be tremendous as we all create a cohesive environment and guide your groups to effectively collaborate with each other.
Minimum Time Commitment:

We are looking for the following roles:
Mentor Developer (TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)We’re looking for developer volunteers with mobile or front-end experience to help student teams build apps within a web-based tool during the hackathon. Your role will be part leader, part expert, and part mad scientist to help the students articulate and scope their ideas into an app. We will be providing app templates and tutorials as a foundation to build on. Developers, designers, product and project managers are encouraged to volunteer for this role.--Mandatory Training: Wednesday, September 20th, 6:30pm - 9:00pm (Oakland - details announced upon selection)
Mentor Creative/Product DevelopmentWe’re looking for creative volunteers with marketing and/or product development experience to assist students execute the creative aspects of their mobile application. Your role will be to help Tech Divas push their creativity during the many stages of product development from ideation to marketing and presentation to the judges. No technical experience needed. Individuals with strong entrepreneurial, marketing, and/or product development experience/training are encouraged to volunteer for this role.--Mandatory Training: Wednesday, September 20th, 6:30pm - 9:00pm (Oakland - details announced upon selection)
Mentor FacilitatorWe’re looking for facilitator volunteers who enjoy working with kids. Your role will be to ensure a student-led experience, help the student teams stay on task during the hackathon and provide positive feedback and encouragement. Teaching experience or experience with youth preferred. No technical experience needed. Hackathon Coach (Floater)Do you have technical experience, but can't make make the full commitment? We would still like to have you onboard as a hackathon coach. Your role will be to assist multiple groups as a leader and expert to help articulate and scope their ideas into an app as well as to push their creativity during the many stages of product development. Developers, designers, product and project managers are encouraged to volunteer for this role.
