This course covers materials in Standard First Aid & CPR, as well as materials on techniques for administering first aid in wilderness and remote areas, where help is further away. Accordingly, this course includes strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.
Guiders, Rangers and Transitioning Members from all areas in BC are invited to register for this training. Guiders with experience and interest in taking girls on adventure trips or camps are particularly encouraged to take this training. Note that for Red Level activities where EMS response time is more than four hours away, at least one Guider must have Wilderness First Aid Certification.
