Want to write for the FAC Net Blog? Pitch us!
FAC Net's blog (https://fireadaptednetwork.org/blog/) and website is far reaching with an average of 11,000 page views per month. Our blog email list has over 2,500 subscribers who receive the newest blog to their inboxes every Thursday. Our E-Newsletter, The FAC Circular (https://bit.ly/3kz1wd8) has over 2,000 subscribers.

Our subscribers, web visitors, and social media audiences are located across the country and around the world with a particularly high concentration in the Western US. Based on surveys and analytic data, we know our audiences are largely professional practitioners in wildfire and fire adjacent organizations, industries and entities. Additionally, we have engaged resident audiences based in rural areas and cities. FAC Net members and blog authors come from a variety of organizations: including fire departments, conservation districts, nonprofits, Firewise fire councils, academia, Tribes, coordinating groups, and more. Our audiences are highly engaged, connected, and deeply involved in the work of fire adaptation.

Our blog is published the first three Thursdays of the month and our E-Newsletter is published the last Thursday of the month. Our communications manager will work with all blog authors on editing, proofreading, and finalizing for publication. Blog stories are typically between 600 -1,600 words and have at least a few photos.

Blog formats differ widely, which adds to the richness of the FAC Net Blog. Our format categories include: Day in the Life/Interviews; Stories from the Field; Essays; Resource Round-Ups; Research Synthesis; Tools/Resources; Success Stories and Fantastic Failures. Our blog is diverse in its format, voice and structure and we are always open to expanding our idea of how we tell the story of living better with fire.

Please fill out the pitch form below to share with us your story idea. Please note that due to a busy editorial calendar, we may not be able to accommodate all ideas.

Please note: we DO NOT publish stories selling products or services.

We are really excited to see what stories you have to share!
