Asylum Seekers Centre Community Speakers Program
Welcome to the Asylum Seekers Centre Community Speakers Program, and thank you for your interest in learning more about people seeking asylum in Australia.
This program has been developed to raise community understanding of the global refugee crisis, Australia's role and the challenges faced by people seeking asylum while they wait for their applications to be assessed. Our presentations also inform the community of how our Centre supports men, women and children seeking asylum and how the community can also help.
Our presentations are available throughout the Sydney metropolitan area. Four weeks notice is ideally required when requesting a speaker for an event. This lead time allows us to secure the right speaker for your event and tailor the presentation to your needs.
Our presentations are free of charge, however we do ask you to kindly consider supporting people seeking asylum and ASC’s work by making a donation. You can make a financial donation, sign up to become a regular donor or donate food, toiletries or lap tops. You can also help us increase our reach by encouraging people to sign up for our quarterly newsletter.
