Girls of Steel Fees:
There are three components to the fees associated with the Girls of Steel Junior Member program.
1) A $175 Materials and Registration fee that is payable on or before October 31, 2017 (discounted to $150 if received/post-marked by October 17, 2017). There are fee waivers available for participants who qualify for free or reduced price lunch at their schools. Contact Theresa Richards at <email@example.com> for more information.
2) Competition travel costs.
3) A $50 fundraising requirement due (received/post-marked) February 27, 2018, which can be met by participating in Girls of Steel fundraising activities. In past years we have held Sarris Candies fundraisers during holidays as well as Pittsburgh Popcorn fundraisers. There is a $15 penalty for late payment of either the fee or fundraising.
Please note: We may not be able to accept all 8th graders this year due to the limited number of spots on the team.
Meetings for the preseason will begin Tuesday, September 19th with an orientation meeting and end on or near Tuesday, December 12th, depending on the FTC Competition schedule. Preseason meetings will begin promptly at 5:30 pm and run through 8:30 pm. We expect you to have dinner before the 5:30 pm meetings begin. It is likely that there will be additional meetings scheduled throughout the fall especially when the team is preparing for competitions.
You will be provided with a Welcome Packet which contains "what to expect" along with important dates and general program guidelines.
