Bay Area Therapeutic Recreation Association 2023 Student Scholarship Awards
BATRA is excited to announce that we will be offering one $500 student scholarship award including a free conference registration. Scholarships are available to students currently enrolled in an accredited CALIFORNIA college or university majoring in recreation therapy. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 units and an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Interns are eligible to apply. Application will close May 1st, 2023.

Applicants must submit the following:
● Completed application form
● Unofficial transcript (proof of GPA and enrolled units)
● Your personal response (typed essay, video, Google Slides, Canva presentation, etc.) to supplemental questions listed below
● What does recreation therapy mean to you? What made you decide to major in recreation therapy?
● What has been in meaningful moment or experience in your time as a recreation therapy student or in your practicum hours?
● What do you hope and plan to accomplish in the profession as a future recreation therapist?
● What do you believe recreation therapy brings to the table in terms of treatment teams?
Please send one email including your transcript and response entry to education@batra-tr.org. The deadline for applications is  May 1st, 2023 . It is the applicant’s responsibility to submit all application requirements to qualify for the scholarship, incomplete applications will NOT be accepted.
