Job Description & Responsibilities
Display consistent, best-in-town hospitality:
• Greet and thank every customer with a smile
• Offer customers menu suggestions, answer questions, and make their experience your #1 priority while at work
• Scoop ice cream, make sundaes, splits and shakes in a fast, clean and consistent manner
• Make waffle cones efficiently and consistently
• Maintain composure and continue to work efficiently and effectively during busy times
• Articulate what is special about The Pearl: our homemade product, our nostalgic experience, and our best-in-town team
• Operate the cash register/first-impression zone with impeccable customer service and follow cash handling cleanliness
• Be clean, hygienic and follow the uniform/dress guidelines for each shift
• Be attentive to keep our shop looking clean, organized, and fully stocked
• Continually stock ice cream, waffle cones, candy and packaging as needed
• Wash ice cream buckets, lids and general dishes throughout your shift
• Keep shop clean: inside and out, front and back, including opening and closing cleaning/duties
• Respect health, safety and sanitation guidelines for your safety and that of others
• See yourself as a part of a team, and act like it!
• Be respectful of others by showing up for your scheduled shift, on time
• Understand that your pooled tips are based on your collective work and customer experience, therefore trying your best and treating the first customer of your shift with the same importance as the last
• Have realistic expectations of working-- some weekend availability will be required. We try to accommodate most reasonable request- offs, but will give preference on holidays (4th of July, etc) to those who have not had a holiday off as recently (We are closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day & Easter)
• Ability to learn and grow into new roles, like confectionery training, coffee training, production/packaging training, shift lead, etc.
