The Earn a Bike program’s primary focus is to teach:
-Individuals about basic bike safety
-Basic bike maintenance
-Basic commuting skills
-Promote personal sustainable practices in our community
By implementing this program Naropa University expects to impact sustainability issues globally by promoting an individual’s personal commitment to living a healthier lifestyle while reducing their carbon footprint.
Participants in the Earn-A-Bike program
-Must be current Naropa students, faculty, or staff members.*
-Must complete 15 hours of service learning
-5 Hours: attending two 2.5 hour classes of their choosing and
-Continue Taking Classes or
-Work in the the Bike Shack during Open Hours
-Will be allowed to put a bike together after completion of their service learning hours
Bike Models Available: Mountain Bike, Hybrid, or similar configuration are compatible appropriate commuting bikes
Participants will receive support and supplies from the Bike Shack during this process.
Participants will have one academic year to complete the program.

We ask that as our program starts off, people who already have bicycles consider utilizing their membership benefits before signing up to earn an additional bike.

-Recommendations for parts and equipment
