活動簡介：沙羅洞作為香港罕見的山谷型淡水濕地，是蜻蜓及其他昆蟲的重要棲息地，惟現時仍面對生境威脅，亦缺乏整體科學規劃框架。在CCFS支持下，港大SIEW Lab正積極探索其生態保育潛力，並計劃擴展現有成果，為整個範圍構建融合自然保育與多元生態服務的未來空間構想。本次工作坊將介紹沙羅洞的生態價值與保育挑戰、最新科研發現，並透過專家與公眾對話，共同探討其未來發展方向。

Event: Sha Lo Tung Conservation Workshop: Challenges and Opportunities of HK's Crucial Freshwater Wetland

Introduction: Sha Lo Tung is a rare valley freshwater wetland in Hong Kong, home to dragonflies and other insects, yet faces ecological threats and lacks a comprehensive planning framework. Supported by CCFS, HKU SIEW Lab is developing a spatial vision for the 56-hectare site, integrating conservation with research, recreation, education, and eco-agriculture. This workshop will highlight its ecological value, present new research findings, and engage experts and the public in exploring future conservation strategies.
