This series is designed for teachers in their first year. This is intended to SUPPLEMENT the new teacher induction programs each local district provides new staff. Topics will be framed around the 5D+ framework and will be intentionally universal for all teachers. Content will not be specific to district curriculum or procedures, rather focused on the art and science of teaching overall.
Topics will include:
* Orientation to 5D+ Framework
* Communication & Curriculum (state standards)
* Legal-light: IEP, 504, and mandated reporting-What every teacher needs to know
* Engagement and Management
* Data collection and application
Each session will include presentations from expert teachers from C.O.O.R. ISD districts as well as time for sharing, questions, dialog, and community buildings by participants.
Dinner will be provided each evening. These sessions are intended to provide some of the 15 days of additional PD new teachers must attend in their first 3 years in the profession.
