Our Innovation Competition will run over three weeks in September. Teams of four will be allocated Friday 27th of August. Teams will be provided with a prompt on Wednesday 1st of September, to respond to via a five-minute presentation on Wednesday 22nd of September.
The prompt of this Innovation Competition will involve real challenges faced by Neighbourhood Houses Victoria.
Neighbourhood Houses Victoria represents the many independent neighbourhood houses in Victoria, providing strategic leadership and advocacy, among many others.
Neighbourhood houses bring people together to connect, learn and contribute to their local community through social, educational, recreational and support activities. Also commonly known as community centres, learning centres, community houses or neighbourhood centres, these inclusive community-based organisations welcome people of all ages, abilities and walks of life, creating opportunities for people to enrich their lives through connections they might not otherwise make.
Each team will be provided with an opportunity to arrange a visit to a local neighbourhood house to meet the manager and to be taken around the facility in order to understand the context of the challenge statement.
Each member of the winning MacRob team will be provided with a work placement opportunity at Neighbourhood Houses Victoria along with a Cristina Re Palladians mug. Each member of the university team will be provided with a Cristina Re Palladians mug.
Are you a current MacRob student or a university student?
