The Forge Theater Lab’s current Board of Directors will end their terms on June 30, 2019. This election is being held to determine the next Board of Directors. This next Board will begin on July 1, 2019 and, if the current bylaws are still in effect, serve until June 30, 2021.
The Forge was founded in summer 2018 by a group of Fitchburg State University alumni and instructors, convened by Kelly Morgan. One of the primary purposes of the company is to provide artistic opportunities to FSU alumni, through the development of new plays. To make sure this mission continues into the future, it was decided that it would be overseen by a board of directors that is elected by FSU alumni.
In the next phase of the company that begins July 1, the day-to-day operations of The Forge will be run by a staff of volunteers led by an Artistic Director. The current Board has appointed Samantha deManbey as The Forge’s first Artistic Director. She will be assisted this summer by Marketing and Design Intern Monique Guthrie, General Theater Intern Natalie Scott, and other staff members the Board may appoint. The Board that is being elected now will oversee that staff, make big-picture decisions about the company, and help promote fundraisers and events.
If you are an FSU graduate, former student, or current or former instructor of Fitchburg State University who has participated in a theater production there, you may cast one vote in this election below. This election will close on June 13, 2019.
Votes will be seen only by the current Secretary of the Board, to determine the result of the election.
