HFCC-AFO Founders’ Scholarship Application
The HFCC-AFO Founders’ Scholarship Fund, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation, established by the Henry Ford College Adjunct Faculty Association (AFT Local 337) plans to award one or more scholarships of $1000 up to $5000 in the memories of AFO founding fathers, Joseph A. Sorokac, Jr. and Peter J. Grant.

The scholarships are intended to assist a deserving AFO member in good standing, or a family member, including grandchildren. The scholarships can be used to offset the cost of tuition, fees and books at any Michigan college or university. Previous applicants, including previous scholarship winners are encouraged to apply again this year.

The application deadline for this year’s scholarship is April 27, 2018. Scholarship winners will be announced by July 1, 2018.

Requirements for scholarship include:

- Applicants must be at least a high school senior or current college student.

- All applicants must have a 3.0 or higher grade point average.

- Student must be accepted by and be planning to attend a two year or four year Michigan college or university.

- In addition to this application, an electronic official transcript from the high school or college must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 .Send transcripts to Mrs. Dorothy Pelton at dorpelton@gmail.com.

The criteria for evaluation are educational goals, academic achievement, potential for success, leadership and character. ALL REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET AND ALL INFORMATION COMPLETED FOR AN APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED.
