Yearbooks will be judged on the following criteria: 
- Coverage and Content: cover and concept design, theme and concept development, coverage of the school year events and activities (people, academics, student life, clubs and organizations, athletics, advertising - if included)
- Copy: writing style, development of writing, use of captions and/or body copy, headlines, subheadlines
- Visuals: elements of design, typography, graphic elements, photography, reader services (table of context and index, folios (page numbers, subjects and topics, colophon)

All NJ Platinum: 925 - 974 
First Place/Gold Award: 850 - 924 
Second Place/Silver Award: 775 - 840 
Third Place/Bronze Award: 700 - 774 
Honorable Mention Award: 550 - 699 
Up and Coming Award: 400 - 549
