Dedication of Facilities Policy

There is a School Committee policy for the dedication of facilities, which details a petition process if there is interest in naming the new elementary school for a local hero or influential figure. Click here to read this policy. You can download a copy of the petition by clicking here. Please note that the petition and 500 required signatures need to be submitted to the School Committee by no later than May 5, 2026 in order for the School Committee to consider naming the building for a specific person.

Naming a school after a direction of town or street name does not require going through the petition process.
