As a volunteer judge, you will sit across the table from DECA’s most talented students and evaluate the knowledge and skills they’ve developed all year through industry-specific competitive role plays and presentations. You will provide the real-world expertise that sets our industry-validated competitive events program apart as you determine who will be named an international finalist.

What kind of events do you want to judge?

1) Written Events:
Prior to the conference: Read and evaluate students' business research papers/plans (5-20 pages, 3 hr commitment.)
Day of: listen to oral presentations over their findings for 15 minutes each

2) Role Play Events: Listen to students present for 10 minutes each on how they would respond to a given business problem situation related to their specific event category. Students are only given 15 minutes to prepare ahead of time. No prior work is needed ahead of showing up.

We will hold a judge orientation at 9:00am to explain the process of scoring and give you the tools needed to evaluate the students. The competition will start immediately upon completion of the judge orientation.
