2018 Application for WCDA Board of Directors
You are cordially invited to submit an application to serve on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Career Development Association (WCDA). WCDA board members are unpaid volunteers. Wisconsin Career Development Association (WCDA) is a state division of National Career Development Association (NCDA).
Requirements for WCDA Board Candidacy
Board members are expected to be a member of WCDA in good standing and agree to participate in at least 75% of board meetings, either in person or by phone.
WCDA Board Meetings
WCDA board meetings are typically held on the second Thursday of each month from 9:00am until 11:00am in Madison. Board members can participate in the meeting either in person or by phone.
WCDA Events
WCDA professional development events occur twice per year - one event in spring and another event in fall. WCDA board members are encouraged to attend WCDA professional development events.
WCDA Mission
Wisconsin Career Development Association (WCDA) provides the structure and means for those with a professional passion to impact the career development of individuals. It is a catalyst to rejuvenate that professionalism through interaction with colleagues outside the daily workplace. WCDA assures this by providing opportunities and an environment for its members to grow, learn and enhance their own career development.
WCDA Priorities
Our priorities in the state of Wisconsin are to:
1. Lay a foundation for the effective delivery of career development and career self-management.
2. Demonstrate the importance of career development and career self-management to practitioners, educators, businesses and citizens.
3. Serve as advocates for career development and career self-management to educational, political, business and community stakeholders.
4. Establish partnerships with other organizations, institutions, and individuals to promote career development and career self-management.
5. Create an effective and sustainable professional career development association in the state of Wisconsin.
