Potential NZEI Strike - Please complete by tomorrow 3pm, Friday 26th May.
Kia ora Parents and Caregivers
NZEI Te Riu Roa primary teacher members have endorsed a one-day strike on Wednesday, 31 May. However, due to a process initiated by the Minister of Education to progress collective agreement negotiations, any decision on moving forward with this industrial action has been paused by the NZEI Te Riu Roa National Executive.
Strike action may still take place next Wednesday, 31 May if the NZEI Te Riu Roa National Executive and negotiations team feels insufficient progress has been made through the new process.
In anticipation of the strike going ahead, we need to know in advance if you require supervision for your child on Wednesday, 31 May. Please understand that with the majority of our teaching staff belonging to the NZEI union, we would be unable to provide normal instruction. We only have 4 staff that do not belong to the NZEI who are available for supervision.
We will let you know on Monday if the strike is going ahead.
Please complete the form by Friday afternoon.
