Wiki edit-a-thon
Join highly-experienced Wikimedians from Belgium, Ireland, Spain, and Malta for a collaborative training and Wikipedia editing session. We will focus on Maltese art and cultural heritage-related digital content.

When: 3 February, 2017, from 9:00 till 12:00.

Where: University of Malta, MKS507 (room 507 in the building of the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences, building 22 on the map http://www.um.edu.mt/campusmap)

Why: Gain yet another e-skill while improving how Maltese art and culture are presented on Wiki platforms.

Who: The edit-a-thon is open to all, but is of particular interest to anyone from the cultural heritage domain, and academics, students, and citizens who wish to see high quality Maltese cultural content online. If you work in the art/cultural heritage sector, you will learn how to create and edit Wikipedia (and other Wiki platforms) content, and will get ideas on how to instruct volunteers and students doing practicum to contribute to higher quality exposure of local cultural and art content.

What do you need to do? Register as soon as possible filling your details below (spaces are limited to 12 and places will be provided on first come-first serve basis!)

Who will share their knowledge with you?
-- John Cummings - currently Wikimedian-in-residence at UNESCO and co-creator of the Wikimedia Documentation Directory.
-- Rebecca O'Neill - member of Wikimedia Community Ireland, organiser of Wiki Loves Monuments Ireland and reading for a PhD with a topic focused on community curation.
-- Xabier Cañas - project lead for Donostiapedia, a collaborative Wiki-based project that formed part of the programme for Donostia-San Sebastian European Capital of Culture 2016.
