Proutopia is a festival art market located in Manitoba, Canada. Two weekends each year, artists and art lovers come together to sell, celebrate and create art. Part of our featured programming takes place in our on-site gallery, and this year we are highlighting stop motion film making.
Stop motion is an animation technique that brings static objects to life frame by frame.
Films will be selected based on originality by our Creative Director Kit Muir. The final compilation will be shown twice daily during the festival weekends, June 9 & 10, 2019 and August 31 & September 1, 2019.
There are two submission deadlines, any film entered for the first Proutopia festival showing (submissions due June 1, 2019) will be carried over to the second viewing date (submissions due August 19, 2019). So no need to submit your films twice. And if you are unable to submit for the first viewing date, you can choose to only submit for the second viewing.
