The Baseball/Fastpitch Academics Rating test is the first IQ test quantifying the relationship between mental aptitude and physical performance on the field. The score provided is a summation of a players overall understanding of the following categories:
• Hitting- Questions include types of counts, approach, adjustments by pitcher type, and situational hitting.
• Defense- Questions include player positioning, relays and cutoffs, bunt rotations, communication, and step patterns.
• Baserunning- Questions include situational base running based on inning, outs, runner speed, score, ball direction, and ball speed.
• Psychology- Questions include visualization technique and implementation, effects of body language and tone of voice, and pace of play.
