Support the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act, HB3278 and HB4418.
Tiny bits of plastic used during the manufacturing process are polluting Illinois’ rivers and lakes and pose a serious threat to aquatic life. Plastic pellets--sometimes called nurdles--last for hundreds of years, accumulate toxins and are currently entering our environment, contributing to the estimated 22 million pounds of plastic waste entering the Great Lakes each year. Still, the companies spilling these hazardous materials into our waterways face few to no penalties.
Companies shouldn’t be allowed to dump or spill plastic into our waterways. Join the growing effort to pass the Plastic Pellet Free Waters Act HB3278 and HB4418, and help keep our water clean for all. Together, we can make our local waters plastic pellet free.
