TEAM was created as a sister organization to TEAL Manitoba. TEAL Manitoba is a SIG (special interest group) of the Manitoba Teachers' Society. TEAM was established in 1990 and has two main purposes: To represent and express the concerns and professional needs of adult EAL educators and to promote the improvement of the programs and services for adult EAL learners through community input, advocacy and professional development.
TEAM is now accepting applications for individuals interested in participating on the TEAM Executive in the 2015/16 year.
Attending monthly meetings (2nd Friday of each month from 4:30-6:30pm)
Developing long-term goals for TEAM
Serving on a committee or as a Chair
1-year term on the TEAM Executive
Attend 8 executive meetings a year
Participate in the TEAM Conference and/or Fund-raising Event
Develop skills and knowledge in leadership, communication, and advocacy
Network with local and provincial professionals in the field of Teaching EAL
Become an advocate for EAL teacher and student issues
