CLASS DESCRIPTION:Meditation is the practice of learning how to be present. Sometimes the busy-ness of life leaves us anxious or distracted, unable to connect with ourself or others. Regular meditation practice frees us from the habitual patterns of thought and behavior, and helps us to respond—instead of react—to life and its challenges. But it takes practice! Learning to meditate in a supportive group environment with an experienced instructor is a great way to begin. During this four-week class, we will focus on connecting to the breath and body, techniques for stabilizing the mind, and working with feelings and emotions.
INSTRUCTOR:Paige Britt, MA, is an author and interfaith spiritual director. Her work is informed both by her masters in theology and her years of Zen practice. She teaches groups, leads retreats, and is a meditation instructor at an addiction recovery center. In addition to her work as a spiritual director, Paige is a children’s book author.
