Brisbane Declaration ON the Elimination Of Keywords (B-DONEOK)
Keywords do not adequately express the complexity of language in text based digital objects. The application of keyword terms may actually hinder understanding, create a false feeling of totality, and discourage interdisciplinary (or transdisciplinary) cross pollination. We should utilize full text search and indexing instead.

We declare that we will stop assigning keywords to digital text based items and spend the saved time and resources on more meaningful work.

We will encourage and allow the absence of keyword application in metadata projects for full text searchable items that are otherwise richly described.
