2021 Boulder Fringe Festival | JOBS & INTERNSHIPS

Every year, the Boulder Fringe Festival seeks dedicated staff members who are interested in supporting independent art and performance in their community. We are looking to hire for a variety of positions for the 2021 festival, the descriptions of which are listed below (please note that time commitments are different for each position). Staff members from previous years are encouraged to re-apply for each new season.

STAFF POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
Venue Site Managers (August 11-23, 2021) - various shifts /days available

* MOST POSITIONS ARE REMOTE (Must have a working computer and high speed internet)

Must have experience working with the public, posess strong managerial and people skills, and be very organized with regards to numbers and money. Must be proficient in Micrsoft Excel, Word, and  online ticketing systems. Having live performance and technical skills a plus (Hiring Phase: May - July, 2021).

Technical Managers (August 8-23, 2021) - various shifts /days available

A technical background in Lighting, Sound, Staging and Video is essential. Must be highly organized, and have experience both in managing people and operating technical equipment. Must be proficient in Micrsoft Excel, Word, and be comfortable interpreting technical specs. Design experience is helpful but not required (Hiring Phase: May - July, 2021).

Volunteer Coordinator (ongoing, with peak season from Apr.-Sept.)

We are seeking an energetic and experienced coordinator who is comfortable organizing and working with people. Experience with communications, organization and scheduling of a large volunteer workforce. Familiarity with Human resources development and managing. Must be available to work during the festival in addition to coordinating and hosting trainings leading up to the event– August 10-11th, 2021 (Hiring Phase: March - May, 2021).

Ad Sales Rep
We are seeking experienced and successful advertising sales representatives to solicit print, web and on-location advertisements from companies in and around the boulder region (Hiring Phase: Ongoing).

Sponsorship Rep
The Fringe has a variety of sponsorship packages available for corporations to advertise and have a wide presence on the festival – we are seeking Sponsorship reps who are familiar with sponsorship development, tracking, solicitation and follow-up. Must be familiar with corporate sponsorship sales in the context of large community events (Hiring Phase: Ongoing).

Special Events Producers
In addition to the Fringe music, dance and theater shows during the August Festival, the Fringe Festival presents a variety of community events throughout the year. We are seeking experienced event producers who are familiar with fundraising, press materials, budgeting and event management. Applicants must be comfortable managing people and show an ability to balance a budget. Typical events throughout the year include, Opening/Closing night parties, Fringe Film events, KidsFringe, Late Night Talk Shows, Poetry Nights, Sponsorship and Donor parties, Public Lottery, Fundraising concerts and more! (Hiring Phase: Ongoi​ng).


INTERNSHIP POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Technical Internship
Qualifications: Technical proficiency with Lighting, Sound, Staging and Video, Design experience helpful but not required. Good communication skills is a plus! Duties: Set-Up/Take-Down of tech equipment for events; oversee the technical production and needs. May need to coordinate with patrons and the production of special events.

Administrative Internship
Qualifications: Experience with web-based communication/organizing tools, Social Media networking and online marketing.
Duties: Assist with advertising and social media content writing. Strategically plan marketing materials/outreach before events. Assist with current online calendars and web-based communication/organizing tools.
