Treejectory+ Application
Treejectory+ is an environmental workforce development program focused on urban forestry, sustainability, and career pathway exposure for disadvantaged and low-income communities across San Diego County. The program combines virtual learning, hands-on field experiences, workforce shadowing, professional development, and networking opportunities with environmental industry professionals. 

The cohort will include:
  • Virtual evening sessions
  • In-person field days across San Diego County
  • Workforce shadowing opportunities
  • Sponsored industry event/conference access
  • Certificate of Completion
  • Paid stipend opportunities for eligible participants ($18/hr)
Minimum Program Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must reside in San Diego County
  • Must have reliable transportation for field modules
  • Ability to participate in conversational English*
  • Must be willing to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid government-issued ID
  • Access to internet for virtual modules
Stipend Eligibility:
To be eligible for the paid stipend, applicants must reside within the Priority Population zones identified by CCIPP Mapping Tool (colored areas).
  1. Students ineligible for stipend are still highly encouraged to participate in Treejectory+ for the valuable training, experience, and career exposure opportunities offered through the program.
  2. Stipend eligibility is reviewed separately for each cohort and funding source.
  3. Previous participation or exceptions do not automatically carry over into future cohorts.
Attendance & Participation:
Treejectory+ is designed to be flexible and accessible for working students and emerging professionals while still maintaining active participation and engagement expectations.  Participants may miss a limited number of modules while remaining eligible for graduation and stipend.

Some field modules may involve:
  • Carpooling or transportation coordination
  • Rotating field groups
  • Limited-capacity activities
  • Outdoor physical activity
Additional Program Notes:
  • Space is limited and applications are reviewed competitively. Accepted applicants must confirm participation in writing after receiving their acceptance email.
  • Participants should expect to dedicate approximately 6-8 hours per week to the program.
  • Participants are expected to communicate proactively, remain engaged, and attend sessions consistently.
  • While instruction is conducted in English, Treejectory+ provides Spanish transcripts and translated course materials whenever possible.
  • Lack of internet access should not discourage you from applying. Contact us for available support resources.
