Spring 2018 West Fund Internship
Thank you for your interest in public service and policy advocacy. The Spring 2018 Internship Program will serve as a unique opportunity to gain experience at a new and growing local nonprofit. The position requires the ability to perform and manage a number of diverse activities, including: conducting research, holding meetings with elected officials, and building relationships with community partners. Good judgment, independent thinking, a high degree of resourcefulness, and professionalism are critical to the successful management of an intern’s responsibilities. Please note, candidates must be available a minimum of 10 hours per week. Applicants must be a resident of El Paso or surrounding area to meet regularly with board members.

Intern Responsibilities include:

• Assist with fundraising needs via social media and phone banking when necessary.
• Complete at least two intake shifts a month.
• Help organize events; at least one a month.
• Assist with coalition building, and maintaining relationships with progressive organizations.
• Help gain support for a policy agenda with local stakeholders, partners and community members.
• Attend West Fund events, and act as representative at community functions.
• Coordinate with West Fund Board members to identify needs, progress, and creative ways to best support the community.

Salary: This is a part-time (10 hours per week) paid stipend internship.
