[Call for presentations] - deadline - February 28th 2026, 11.59pm EST
Following the success of its first edition, the Speculative Life Research Cluster and the Performing Arts Research Cluster (LePARC) are teaming up once again to host a second mixer event, Speculations in the PARC on March 12th, from 5pm to 8:30pm, in Spec Life (EV. 10.625) and LePARC Performance Lab (EV. 10.785). Open to Milieux members and the wider public, this gathering offers another opportunity to discover ongoing research from both clusters.
✨ We are now welcoming submissions from Spec Life and LePARC members who would like to take part in this second edition by sharing their research and connecting with peers across clusters and the Milieux community. We accept proposals in traditional presentation formats, but also highly encourage submissions that take non-conventional forms such as performance-lectures, embodied research, collective exercises, or other participatory formats.
Submissions are open until February 28th at 11:59pm EST. To apply, please fill out the submission form below with a presentation title, a short summary of your research or creative practice, and a brief description of how you wish to present it.
Due to the relatively short duration of the event, a total of 6 presentations will be chosen from the submissions. Priority will be given to works that explore shared themes or overlaps between the clusters, as well as projects that have not been previously presented. Work-in-progress proposals are very welcome.
Presentations should be approx 20 min. in length, with more time intentionally reserved for informal conversations and exchanges. While this is not an elevator-pitch or thesis competition, we encourage presenters to share their work concisely and to keep in mind that the audience will include participants from a wide range of academic and creative disciplines.
Please note that presentations should remain somewhat minimal in terms of technical requirements. A large screen TV and an HDMI cable will be available for presenters with visual components in Spec Life. In LePARC, there is a four-point loudspeaker set-up, and a projector that can be used.
The majority of the event will take place in Spec Life (EV. 10.625). We will also be moving to the Performance Lab (EV. 10.785) for attendees to experience any performance pieces or presentations by LePARC members. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks will be served.
We look forward to reading your submissions!
