SaskCollections is a collections database designed to address the needs of small to medium-sized institutions and is hosted by the Museums Association of Saskatchewan. Using the open-source software CollectiveAccess, SaskCollections is cloud-based, making it accessible from any computer with a stable internet connection.

Participation in SaskCollections requires that participants use the database regularly and provide feedback to MAS to help us continue to improve the system. Participants with existing collections management systems (databases) will work with MAS and the software developer to migrate/enter data from those systems to assist with expanding the database for future users.

If you do not currently use a database, what better time than now to start? Training with SaskCollections will be provided by MAS, and all participants must be willing to commit time and effort to this project.  

Once your database is set up, members will be able to join the-end public webpage to share their collection with the world via the internet (http://saskcollections.org). Costs for participation in this SaskCollections component are currently included in the SaskCollections annual fee.

The current fee schedule for SaskCollections is $200 for the first year (this fee includes Nomenclature 4.0, system development, hosting, and the storage and transfer of data) and $125 due each January after joining for data storage and hosting.

Purpose of Applicant Screening Survey:
You are asked to complete the following survey to help identify where you are in your collections and documentation management. This process will identify whether you are ready to join SaskCollections or if further work needs to be done to ensure that best documentation practices are in place at your institution.
