LAARU Mentor/Mentee Guidelines: The following guidelines are meant to help mentors/mentees avoid situations that might reflect unfavorably on themselves or LAARU. They do not cover every situation and do not replace the need to exercise prudent care and good judgement. These guidelines are intended to produce a meaningful relationship between mentor and mentee. I understand that as a mentor/mentee I am voluntarily offering my time, knowledge and experience to help empower a mentor/mentee of LAARU. As a mentor/mentee, I will make myself available to interact (via email, phone and/or in person) with my mentor/mentee (at least once a month for one full year) to answer any questions that pertain (but not limited) to school, scheduling, classes, work, resume building, interviewing and interests. If I do not know the answers, I will direct them to the appropriate resources to obtain the help they need. Mentors/Mentees should make an effort to reach out to the mentee at least once a month so that they know the mentorship relationship is present and ongoing. Both parties are responsible for making the effort. Mentors/Mentees must demonstrate integrity and act in ways that are ethical to earn the respect and trust in the mentoring partnership. Inappropriate conduct should be avoided. Mentors/Mentees act in the best interest of the mentoring organization (LAARU) and ensure confidentiality, taking care to protect inadvertent disclosure. **Agreement Clause** I have read and understand the guidelines presented before me by LAARU's Mentorship Program and promise to abide by them to the best of my ability. By submitting this form I agree to the terms and conditions of this program. *
