Annual Dues Waiver
NSPN waivers for annual membership dues are intended to help members by providing assistance to anyone whose financial circumstances are such that full payment of membership dues would pose a financial hardship. Current or prospective NSPN members of are eligible to apply for dues waivers. Situations which would merit a dues waiver may include:
- Unemployment or income constraints
- Time away for family or health reasons
- Reduced income based upon other unexpected or extraordinary circumstances

Adjusted Membership Category Eligibility
NSPN Membership Categories are outlined at
. New members of the Network may petition to be considered for a specific membership category if they would otherwise be considered ineligible. Situations which would merit exceptions in NSPN Membership criteria may include:
- Postdoctoral researchers beyond 5 years of their terminal degree
- Alternative degree types with an interest and investment in science policy, communication, or diplomacy
- Non-traditional students or trainees

Adjusted Chapter Registration Eligibility
NSPN Chapters are required to have a minimum of three Early Career Scientist and Engineer Members and a mission that is related to science policy, communication, diplomacy, or advocacy. Only groups with NSPN Chapter status are eligible for Chapter start-up funds, Microgrants, and hosting the National Science Policy Symposium.
