Applications are open to all who are interested in vending at Virtual Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting, no matter their age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, socioeconomic status, or political beliefs.
Virtual Knitting LIVE! by Vogue Knitting
Vogue Knitting is launching an online event, Virtual Knitting LIVE! There will be live 2-hour classes and 1-hour lectures, with a virtual marketplace, where students can chat and shop with favorite LYS owners/vendors. There will be lots of free content, such as meditations, yoga, happy hours, meet ups, learn to knit/crochet lessons etc. We want knitters and crocheters from all over the world to come together, feel connected, and support each other. We also hope this will give teachers and vendors exposure and bring in some revenue during this difficult time.

Virtual Vendor Package (cost: $150) Includes:

- Logo Placement on Marketplace Page
- Two (1-Hour) Virtual Shop Time Slots
- Dedicated Marketplace Email

Logo Placement on Marketplace Page: Featured logo & website link on the highlighted vendor page of our website. Attendees can click on your logo and will be directed to your website. You can also provide a description. If you would like to offer a special discount or something exclusive to our attendees, please provide that in your description.

Your Virtual Shop: We are offering two (1-hour) virtual time slots per vendor. This is your opportunity to meet with customers face to face, virtually. Attendees can drop in at set times to hear about your products, new designs, and more. Hold a trunk show, show off your new products, offer show specials, then send customers directly to your website to shop. Vendors can pick their time slots, depending on availability. Time slot selection will be sent out after receiving your application.

Dedicated Marketplace Email: A dedicated email about the marketplace will be sent out to our subscribers. This will include your logo.

Software: We suggest Zoom, as our attendees are used to this platform as all our classes and lecture are held in Zoom. Keep in mind for free Zoom accounts, the number of attendees will be capped (100 attendees max per free account and they only permit 40 minutes). A standard Zoom account is $14.99 per month (and you can cancel the account right after the show); this includes 100 attendees, but no time limit). You can also upgrade to a “large meeting add-on” for $54.99 per month and that allows up to 500 attendees. If you will be using a free Zoom account please let us know. You simply need to provide us with the link and we will integrate it into our system. If you do not have a online meeting software, in addition to options such as Zoom, Go To Meeting, etc. We suggest testing the software of your choice to see it has all the features you are looking for in a meeting software. Vendor are in charge of monitoring their own room and we will ask vendors to send their links by a certain date

FAQs

How many students should I expect to stop by more store?
It's really hard to know how many will attend the event and how many will stop by your store. This is a new venture for us in a time of uncertainty, but we are getting feedback from our community that they are looking for activities to occupy their time.

What is the schedule over the 4 days?
Classes will be held three times a day (10AM-12PM, 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM) and lectures will be held twice a day (12:30PM—1:30PM and 4:30PM—5:30PM).

How many students will be in each class and lecture?
We have room for 20 to 30 students per class and a few hundred for lectures.

Will any of these class be recorded?
No they will be all live! We want to encourage community engagement during this time.

Can I offer discounts in my virtual room?
Yes you can run your virtual room the way you would run your booth at our show. You can offer discounts, conduct interviews, run trunk shows etc. We just ask that you do not run any classes as that would compete with ours.

Will I have to sign anything?
We do a have a contract for you to sign to protect you and to protect us. Once you fill out the application, we will send over a contract for your review.

What if something technical goes wrong with my virtual room, can you help me?
We will have a technician on staff, however if you are using your own software and your own account, there is just so much we can do. If you are unable to figure out your difficulties and want to reschedule your time slot for later in the week, we can worked our best to work with you to find an opening.

What if a customer is making other customers uncomfortable, what do I do?
If you are using your own software, you should have the option of removing someone from your room. We of course ask that you use discretion doing this and report the incident to us immediately. We want everyone to feel comfortable, so if you think it is necessary, please go ahead and remove them. We just ask that you let the student know before doing it in a private chat message.

How should I make my virtual store feel special or stand out?
Perhaps offer an exclusive product (kit, project bag, yarn) for our attendees or even a special discount? Another option is to presale this exclusive product and ship it to them when ready. Of course if this is not possible, we completely understand. These are hectic times and the show is soon. But it could be a creative way to entice customers to clicking on your shop.
