What is involved?
  1. We will be planting trees in Horotane Valley. 
  2. If you are driving, please park at the Duncan Park carpark for Location 1 and Horotane Valley Road for Location 2. Then follow the signs to the planting site.
  3. This is a steep site and there are a number of natural hazards, including uneven terrain, rocks and under-runners. The grass has grown long and it may be slippery in places. This is not considered suitable for unsupervised children.
  4. Please dress for the conditions - we recommend layers, good tramping or walking shoes, a jacket and a hat.
  5. A full H&S briefing including what to wear and bring will be sent by email a couple of days prior.
  6. If the weather is poor, we will postpone, and (if you have registered) you will be notified by email on the morning of the event.

Locations
  1. Location 1. 
    Planting for events on Sat. June 6th (9am – 12.00noon) and Sun. June 14th (1.00 noon – 4.00pm) will be taking place at a site a short distance from the south boundary of Duncan Park, Port Hills Road, Heathcote.
    Access. Parking is available in the Duncan Park car park just in from the Port Hills Road entrance. From here there is a 15 - 20 minute walk (follow the signs) up to the top of Duncan Park and the Linda Woods Reserve North Gate. The planting sites are a short walk into Avoca Valley from here.

  2. Location 2.
    Planting for the event on Sun. June 21st (9am – 12.00 noon) will be taking place in Horotane Valley a short walk from the end of Horotane Valley Road.Access. Park on the roadside at the top of Horotane Valley Road, then walk up the narrow signposted walkway off the end of the cul-de-sac. Once over the stile into the reserve continue walking straight ahead for a couple of minutes. The planting area is on your left up the hill.
