Eligibility of ApplicantTo be eligible, a student must meet the following criteria:· Be an active member of 4-H/FFA for the 2018-2019 school year.· Applicants must have participated in the JCLAA Show and Youth Fair for at least 2 years prior and also have one entry in the 2019 JCLAA Show and Youth Fair.· Must be a Senior planning to graduate in 2019 and have plans to continue his/her education in a university, college or trade school.· Plans to be a full time student in the fall of 2019 at a university, college or trade school.Applicants that receive the Queen and Ambassador Scholarship, including the runner up winners, will NOT be eligible for any of the 6 scholarships.
Application DirectionsTo complete the application, the student must:· Application must be filled out completely, using the auto fill application.· A high school transcript for the first three and one-half years must be attached.· Two letters of recommendation with the scholarship application. One academic reference and one personal reference.· Applicants are responsible for showing up on time for the interview portion of the scholarship application process.· Interviews will be held at Joshua Ag Building March 20th, 2019 at 4:30 PM. Scholarship application is due online March 1st by midnight.
Additional Information & Rules· Each scholarship participant will go through a two part process, including an application and personal interview.· The interview judges will consist of but not limited to: one Agricultural Science teacher from each high school in Johnson County, one County Extension Agent, and one Johnson County Livestock & Agriculture Association board member.· Each scholarship will be awarded at the 2018 Johnson County Livestock & Agriculture Association Awards Banquet and Membership Dinner. Each scholarship contestant will receive a free meal at the banquet and dinner.· Scholarships will be paid to the University, college or trade school for the benefit of the winner. Each recipient will need to contact the treasurer of the Johnson County Livestock & Agriculture Association to receive payment.· Each scholarship will be awarded at the JCLAA banquet on March 27, 2018.
