Inked: Printed African Cloth | Thursday, April 9 | 6:00-8:00pm
In our final Making Workshop of the year, we celebrate the opening of Museum’s newest permanent gallery – the Africa Gallery with Inked: Printed African Cloth. Learn about the importance of the Adinkra symbols, visual representations created by the Akan of Ghana and the Gyaman of Cote d’Ivoire in West Africa that represent concepts or original thoughts. View carved Adinkra symbols from Ghana currently in the Museum’s collection, and create your own stamped printed cloth to use as a wall hanging at home!
