Studio: TESLA Application
Hi! Thank you for your interest and excitement for Studio: TESLA! Our mission to serve STL is summarized in the following statement:

Studio: TESLA mobilizes college students to establish dynamic after-school clubs for underserved youth to build STEAM literacies and critical thinking capacity through hands-on design challenges.

Please read the following information explaining each of our committee's duties.

--------------------------------------------------------COMMITTEE INFORMATION--------------------------------------------------

OPERATIONS: The operations team goes to our community partner sites to do projects with awesome middle school students! You would be expected to: go to site each week (~2 hrs including travel), mentor and encourage the students, and meet with an enrichment member to learn about the project before going to site (15 mins). To be on the operations team you would need be consistently available at one of the following times each week.
Monday 1:30-3:30pm, Tuesday 2:30-4:30pm, Wednesday 4-7pm, Thursday 2:30-4:30pm.

ENRICHMENT: The Enrichment branch of Studio: TESLA is focused on the development of our educational curriculum. We design the projects that the Operations team takes to schools in the area. The time commitment for Enrichment is one meeting each week, for about an hour and a half. These meetings are flexible and will be based on the availability of the Enrichment team members. Additionally, there will be meetings with Operations team members to explain the projects which Enrichment team members are encouraged to attend. Joining the Enrichment team does not exclude you from going to the sites with Operations.

COMMUNICATIONS: The communications committee is responsible for representing Studio: TESLA on campus and in the greater St. Louis area. The committee ensures communication among members by updating the website and creating monthly newsletters that highlight the amazing work our volunteers have been doing. We also work on advertisement for recruitment and other events. Members will be expected to meet for 1 hour every other week and are encouraged to attend the Drop Everything and Design Day event once a semester. No previous experience is needed!

TREASURY: Our treasury team works closely with Student Union and outside funders to help us put all our programming into action! If you are interested in grant writing and/or the institutional runnings of student groups at WashU, Treasury is for you!
