The business of hospitality simply cannot thrive without it, and the individuals who provide it - who dedicate their time and energy to exceed the expectations of our guests - are the real proponents of that success!

Service is an attitude, a willingness to extend oneself in any way necessary to ensure the comfort of another. It's tireless, selfless, sincere and requires unrelenting commitment and energy.

The 45th Annual James V. Cunningham Service Award honors the individual who, regardless of palpable pressures and demands, consistently displays - through measurable action - a willingness to serve. Nominees will be contacted personally by the JVC judging committee who will inform them of their nomination and request up to five letters of commendation.

The James V. Cunningham Award will be presented by the San Diego Chapter of HSMAI in conjunction with the Gold Key Awards.
