Whether you're definitely registering for the new season or still wanting to learn more about Science Olympiad, please fill out this form so we can be sure to add you to our contact list about the coming season. 

This form should be filled out by head coaches, or prospective head coaches of new teams.

This form is for Divisions B and C, which hosts tournaments in the winter/spring for students in grades 5-12. If you are instead/also interested in Division A, which hosts fall tournaments for students in grades 3-5, please click here for the Division A interest form.

What do we mean by "head coach"?
The head coach is expected to be the main point of contact between VASO and the team. They receive VASO communications and relay information to team members and families, organize the team rosters, assign team members to events, and are expected to be present on tournament days. 

Some schools may have a faculty sponsor of the team, but if they are not taking on the roles described above, we ask that the adult doing these tasks fill this form out instead. Teams must have an adult head coach approved by the school. If you do have an additional school/faculty sponsor, there is a place to note that in the form as well.

The registration paperwork (to be signed by the principal) acknowledges you as the coach of the school teams, whether you are an employee of not. However, if you are not a school employee, VASO highly recommends that you work closely with someone who is a school employee to help ensure compliance with school policies and support team administration, including organizing school paperwork necessary for travel to tournaments, procuring team supplies and meeting space, and assisting in team selection.

For new coaches: Note that each team is made up of at most 15 students. We strongly encourage new programs to consider fielding only one team their first year.
