TRAVEL PERMISSION REQUEST FORM
• This form must be submitted before **all** travel abroad, **including** travel during our Pesach break.
This form must be submitted **before** tickets are purchased. Please do not purchase a ticket and then file for permission, since this may result in extra costs if you need to change your ticket.
• When planning travel, make sure to first consult the Midreshet Moriah Calendar (http://bit.ly/1UpillN) and note the days on which all students must be present. Travel will not be approved for those days except for emergencies.
• Students may not leave the country during the learning year (other than during Pesach vacation) except to attend weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs of siblings.
• We must receive written permission from parents for all travel (via fax or email).
• Please plan to travel only for the minimum number of days possible. The year in Israel is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for intensive, uninterrupted learning and growth. Experience has taught us that students’ success during this year is profoundly compromised by trips and absences.
• Usually, our Travel Committee will make a decision on each travel request within one week.
• Even when travel is approved, days missed will count as absences. Students will be required to make up all learning and assignments they miss.
• Students who are receiving scholarship money may not travel abroad except for EITHER Pesach break or to Poland (not both). Scholarship money should be used to help pay tuition and expenses.
• Our dorm is open during the Pesach break, except for Yom Tov itself and Shabbat Chol Ha-Mo’ed. We are happy to provide home hospitality for the Seder and Yom Tov.
