YPG BBL: The Recipe Behind Cookbook Publishing
What ingredients and steps go into the intricate processing of publishing a cookbook? How do editors decide which restaurants or chefs to approach? What goes into recipe testing and how do you publicize a cookbook? More importantly, who gets to eat all the scrumptious food after they’re done taking the photos and how do we volunteer as tribute? Join us for our August brown bag lunch to get the inside scoop on all the behind-the-scene action to create and promote a successful cookbook!

Erin Jeanne McDowell is a food writer, recipe developer, and food stylist based in the New York metro area. Her work can be seen in magazines, cookbooks, and on the web. Clients include Food52, QuestLovesFood, Fine Cooking, Southern Living, King Arthur Flour, and more. Her first cookbook, The Fearless Baker, will be published October 24th, 2017 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Cassie Jones is VP/Executive Editor and Editorial Director, William Morrow Cookbooks. Her bestselling authors include Ree Drummond (the Pioneer Woman), Daphne Oz of The Chew, and Cal Peternell of Chez Panisse.

Erica Gelbard is an Executive Publicist at Clarkson Potter. She has worked on publicity campaigns for Gina Homolka of Skinnytaste, Hugh Acheson, Melissa Clark, Christina Tosi, Michael Symon, Alice Waters, Lucky Peach, Martha Stewart and Ali Maffucci of Inspiralized.
