Festival of Faith & Writing 2020 Student Committee
If you're keen on all things associated with reading and writing, if you're interested in volunteering to help put on a major literary conference, and if you'll be a student at Calvin in 2019-2020, the Center for Faith & Writing has been waiting for you.

We're looking for an awesome group of student volunteers to help us host the 30th anniversary Festival of Faith & Writing, a three-day celebration of the way that words and belief shape each other. Over the years, many amazing writers have joined us at the Festival: Maya Angelou, Elie Wiesel, Chaim Potok, Salman Rushdie, Kate Bowler, Marilynne Robinson, Madeleine L'Engle, Zadie Smith, Annie Dillard, Anne Lamott, John Updike, Katherine Paterson, and George Saunders, to name only a few. In 2020, we'll add over 60 names to this list of luminaries, and you can sign up to be on the committee--and to host one of our speakers throughout their time at Calvin.

You'll help us, too, to extend hospitality to the more than 2,000 readers that attend Festival, both over the three days they join us on campus and as we plan for the party.

We'll spend the 2019-2020 school year in our preparations. Below, let us know your schedules. We're very happy to work with you and your other commitments. We'll offer training throughout the year and a faith and writing class during interim, if you're available (and there's a place to indicate if you have other plans, too). We look forward to spending the year with you, however you are involved.

So mark your calendar for April 16-18, 2020, and send in your application ASAP.

Obviously, the time commitment goes up considerably in spring semester--and through the Festival. Attending an off-campus experience, however, does not disqualify you from membership on the committee.) *
If you have worked on-campus, please indicate where, when, and the name of your supervisor. *
